Delayed delivery into store next day

Ordered for delivery into store next day but on collection day I get a message saying delayed.
This is the second time in as many months this has happened.
Really annoying if you need the items ordered next day.
Screwfix need to sort this out, surely they can get next day delivery to their own store, if not, stop offering this service.

Luck of the Draw

Had occasion to visit Screwfix in Daventry yesterday for some drain unblocker. The unblocker didn't work, but the man who served me was wonderfully polite and informative. Very friendly. Unlike the guy at the Towcester branch a few weeks earlier who couldn't even be bothered to make eye contact.

Online ordering is a waste of time

Rarely use Screwfix, but whenever I do order something they seem to mess it up. Ordered a jigsaw for next day collection that I need for tomorrow as mine packed up. Store closes in an hour and still no confirmation or update, cannot contact store, main number recorded message just told me they've sent me a whatsapp detailing my report.... I don't know how as no details were taken so obviously nothing received!!! Have cancelled complete order and definitely won't be using their shambolic online 'service' again.

We are always getting very good service…

We are always getting very good service from Screwfix Kettering. We went several times there to buy several things like DIY, Electrical so many items. If the items we looking for is not available in Kettering store then they will arrange them within 2 or 3 days. Once we went there for Worcester greenstar combi boiler bottom cover they will arranged for free home delivery. The staffs are very helpful, cooperative and friendly and they are serving very good and try to help and solve the problems of their valuable customers. We are very pleased to go for purchasing in Screwfix Kettering store. 🙏🙏🙏.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service, completely not helpful and no interest in resolving an issue.

Ordered tool storage for next day delivery. First delivery was lost, at first good customer service in getting a new one sent out the next day only for that to not be delivered and then get told to wait two more days to see if it turns up. Requested a refund due to the service and was rejected. Terrible company and service provided.

Fabulous service at Scunthorpe Parkway store

We consistently receive fabulous from the Scunthorpe Parkway store. This week it was Sarah that I saw, she was friendly but professional, very smart loved her eye makeup, quick & efficient too.

Item not matching description on web site

I ordered a refurbished die grinder. In the item description it was mentioned it has variable speed. What I received didn't get the variable speed. The fixed version is cheaper than the variable speed one.

I wrote to the customer service. They only asked me to return the item without providing any other options.

I feel meh that I need to return something / accept a different item due to mistake of the merchant.

Paula at Screwfix at Stadium Way, Tilehurst was excellent and very helpful. She is definitely a problem solver!

The problem with buying screws in a DIY store is that they are packaged up and you cannot test them on the fitting, whereas Screwfix have a gauge on the counter, and will open a box of screws to test them out

Zero urgency and no apology when an admin error said my Click and Collect had been collected.

I ordered an air conditioning unit online from the Burnley store on 27/05/26, for click and collect.

I did some more research, and realised the product wasn't compatible for my needs, so I emailed their support team to cancel the click and collect and request a refund.

I requested this cancellation on 29/05/26, they then replied on Monday 01/06/26 to say the item had already been collected - I most certainly had not collected this item, so I immediately replied and asked them to check with the store.

I didn't receive a reply to this email, so I chased 24 hours later on 02/06/26. Today (03/06/26), I chased again this morning as I still hadn't received a response.

Whilst writing this review I have just received an email confirming the item is still in fact with the store, and that it hadn't actually been collected, and so they confirmed they have processed a refund.

Typically, I had just submitted a chargeback against them, so I will now have to cancel that, but I was advised to call them in the future for more immediate support.

Funnily enough I'd already tried to call them using the contact number 0333 011 2112, but all that line does is open a new text chat with a bot on WhatsApp - pointless.

A very disappointing customer service experience here, with zero urgency from ScrewFix - who have essentially accused me of lying without promptly investigating that they had their facts right - and they didn't even apologise.

Dont bother ordering online

Placed an order for delivery, left instructions to leave it outside and they returned to sender as 'Customer no longer lives at this address' i got onto customer service to redeliver and it's now the 3rd time they've not delivered it, despite asking them to leave it in a safe place.

Screwfix can only suggest delivering to local store, which I can't it's too big for me to transport hence the delivery. I've already started the project with this particular skirting board (which they delivered absolutely fine twice!!) now im stuck and unable to get it without taking a day off work to sit and wait for it to be delivered.

So called "eGift Card" can't actually be used online.

I was unfortunate to receive a Screwfix "eGift Card", unfortunate because it can't actually be used to purchase online or even by phone. You can only redeem it in person, but you can't reserve stock without purchasing. So you if the item you want isn't stocked at your local branch you either have to make two separate trips, drive miles and miles to find a stockist, or go instore and pay for delivery. HOW CONVENIENT!!!

Exceptional service from Screw Fix Leighton Buzzard

I’ve used Screwfix branches for 12 years and always had helpful staff, but Jira at [branch name] today was exceptional.

He was patient, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly without jargon. As someone who isn’t experienced with DIY, I felt really supported. He went through all my options, checked product compatibility, and knew the Screwfix website inside out to get me the right parts first time, saving me having to come back for accessories i would have needed.

I bought raffle tickets but today’s service felt like the real win. The only “downside” was Jira spotted a few other items I now need to come back and buy!

Screwfix is clearly not just for tradespeople. Anyone will get the correct advice and service here. I’m back tomorrow to collect pre-ordered items i purchased from Jira, i will have no hesitation visiting screw fix again.

Open and resealed product

I ordered a safe and paid twice because the first safe allegedly couldnt be delivered to my home address because of the 'system' but speaking to another colleague, the same safe could be ordered and delivered.

The first colleague also claimed i refused to share my information but how can i ask for home or location delivery without sharing a name and address??

The safe was delivered a day early, no warning, no text, no communication. The safe arrived in an open and resealed box which obviously made the safe redundant. A copy of the override keys could be obtained before it got delivered to me, i chose to be safe like intended through the purchase of the product, rather than sorry.

The phone calls to customer service were tragic. One staff member tried to convince me that the open and resealed box was 'safe'. At first staff claimed collection wasnt possible even though the screwfix website says the opposite. Please also bear in mind gokd quality safes are heavy, if im not driving its not possible to carry. They demanded i go in store for the refund. I went in store and arranged a collection through staff in store. It was another no show.

After a few days of calling customer. Service, staff eventually arranged collection, i provided a phone number, it was another no show.

Screwnfix phone service is 24/7 but staff denied this and claimed to close at 8pm so i was forced to use their WhatsApp service. That service is even more horrific. 3 documented collections arranged with no shows and they refuse to give a timeframe or timeslot for collection, so 3 days of waiting all day with no communication and no shows.

I also got a call from someone claiming to be screwfix employee to confirm arranged appointment. Once i got off the call i received a message on whatsapp saying 'Apologies we would not have the courier or any possible times confirmed yet as this has just been requested. As soon as we have this processed we will be in contact to advise next steps. Is there anything else I can help you with in the meantime?'

They couldn't confirm who the courier would be either. Either way i still waited for the courier, all day and it was yet another no show.

The correspondence started to feel suspect, like this was an account takeover so i blocked the whatsapp after the third no show. The useless unsafe safe is still in my space.

A complete shambles.

Excellent service from Milly

I called into the Screwfix store, Sunday 31st May, in Brynmenan Bridgend to buy anchor bolts to erect an awning.
Milly was so polite and helpful.
She was patient and we finally found the proper bolts. I also purchased a set of Stanley spirit levels.
They are on order for collection tomorrow.
Well done Milly I'm one impressed customer

Shoddy Practice from Screwfix

Bought Hozelock item last March which developed a fault and had to be replaced with a new item. 8 months later a new fault develops on the brand new replacement hose and Screwfix now say that the one year warranty they supply doesn't apply!- it is only the balance of the warranty of the original faulty goods.
All they do is give you a number for Hozelock and you have to chase them. Screwfix advise that any replacement item does not have the same level of warranty as other new items. My advice is to always Get a refund and then buy a new item otherwise this sharp practice will affect you. Really shoddy service from Screwfix which means they have lost another customer. For them to dodge a warranty by saying is doesn't apply to a brand new item that was a replacement makes a mockery of the sale of goods act and items being fit for purpose. Buyer beware, avoid Screwfix if you want the full warranty to be honoured on brand new goods.

Bad delivery system

I am extremely disappointed with your delivery service lately. Over the last month, we have repeatedly failed to receive our orders on time.

What is the point of offering “next day delivery before 12pm” if you continue sending parcels with Royal Mail and they arrive days later? Almost every single order has been delayed, and every time I have to contact customer service myself to request a refund for the failed delivery guarantee.

We have been buying from Screwfix for over 10 years, but honestly, this situation is becoming unacceptable. We run a building company, and delays like this directly affect our work. We cannot wait 2–3 days for essential materials like screws and tools when we specifically pay extra for guaranteed morning delivery.

The service used to be reliable, but recently it has become frustrating and inconsistent. If this continues, we will seriously consider moving our business elsewhere.
