No updates. Just be patient Mug!
Ordered machine and several other bits. The machine is pickup nexts day. Next day comes and Nothing. Order update is "processing." I'm hanging here wondering will it arrive today or should I do other stuff. Just pretty crap. Now I suspect they didn't even have it when they took the money. No one to call.
I see last customer award was 9 years ago.

Order not fulfilled, cancelled without consent
If you’re buying anything where the order being honoured matters — especially if you’re scheduling trades or installation work — be aware that Screwfix appear willing to simply cancel and refund without your consent, with no warning and no alternative offer at the agreed price.
Ordered a Grohe thermostatic shower system on 18 May 2026. Payment taken immediately. Collection date from Greenwich store given as 19 May. No SMS, no email, no contact of any kind when that date came and went.

Disappointing Experience
I have used Screwfix for many years and have generally been happy with their services and products but no longer.
I ordered some items on 23/5 to be picked up on 26/5 from their Baker Street. I received a text message on 26/5 at 12:15 informing the purchase was ready for collection from Baker Street and showed up at 14:15 just to find the shop was closed due to technical issues. Their order system says the items are ready for collection, but the web site informed on 27/5 the shop is unavailable. Are my items really there, when will the shop open again?
The Screwfix WhatsApp is not helpful for non standard queries, their web site informs nothing about the expected re-opening of the shop nor what I should do to get my purchases. I gave up waiting on their telephone line.

Screwfix WAP31A15E air conditioner
I purchased a Screwfix WAP31A15E air conditioner last week in May 2026. It is a small machine with 5000BTU output. I wanted something that would cool down my small bedroom.
The temperature guage starts off at about 26c which is correct as I have a thermometer in the room. However, after a few minutes of operation the temperature guage goes up to 28c and that is with venting the exhaust pipe to outside the room.
Not impressed. A normal fan works better than this machine. It also leaks water over the floor.
I have since discovered that this machine may not be a new one as the bottom of the box has been cut off which may explain why it does not work the way it should.

No longer using this company!
Brought two identical items, delivery notification was taking a while so went in store to check. They said yes received delivery but not available right now, the store was dead, plenty of staff, could they have not just got them for me!!! No had to come back later on, extra journey.
Then the two items, identical but didn't behave the same way. Online help no use at all.
When you need service you don't get it!
I will stick to Toolstation, I'm done with Screwfix and their sub standard service, products and resolutions.

Great customer service
Ordered a few items but one wasn't going to arrive on the stated day so received a call from my local store's manager who was very helpful and uo front about the fact it would take an extra day to arrive. He offered me a £10 voucher which was waiting for me when I collected all the items the next day, surprisingly good experience.

Purchased a cordless mower rang customer service on the 16th of may the call handler didn't seem to no what she was doing i wanted to arrange a collection for the 22nd my day off u rang to see if it was still arranged but this call handler said it was to early to book and it was cancelled after waiting in so I had to get a taxi to take to my nearest store this is my last time buying from here I will shop at tool station which treat ots customers better

I purchased an item online, as the item was not compatible I went to store to return it but store staff mentioned this is item can only be returned via calling the customer service. I called them and item was arranged and collected 2-3 days. I forgot about this and after 2 months when i was doing my company accounts I realised that no refund was issued after collection. Its been 2 months and now I am chasing them to get my money back. Has this been from my personal account I would have never remembered this purchase. Please be alert of this, invoice clearly states item can be refunded in store, and dont fall for staff refusing refund on certain items. Or avoid buying online atleast if you are unsure about the item.

you are treated with indifference by the employees if you are not English and do not speak perfect English I returned a broken generator that I paid a lot of money for and was under warranty and I received another one of equally poor quality after 25 days of insistence and wasted time

I don't think it's legal that I had to choose between a replacement for a chipped radiator and a goodwill gesture of an unknown amount. When the radiator turned up I already had the plumber booked in to go through the installation, so I would have lost the plumbing costs if I asked screwfix to replace the radiator they damaged in transit. The most annoying part is that I had to accept a gesture of goodwill before being told what the amount was!
They wouldn't tell me unless I accepted the gesture first ?! I work in Ecommerce and this procedure for me is completely unheard of. Especially as after accepting it, the goodwill gesture amounted to only £20. Radiator cost £180! Very questionable procedures, if not even unlawful.

I don't know why the stock levels are so poor
Yet again no stock of small basic products. Wouldn't think to check on line for simple daily requirements. Electrical back boxes, small metal brackets, and other basic needs for my work are never in store, showing none in head office and then get directed to another store 11 miles away (really?) which I had to check on line to see also had no stock. Left empty handed. Went 1 mile up the road to a small general store and got everything and at the same price! I don't know why I bother ! Nothing changes

FINED FOR PARKING…
UKPC have charged me for parking in the screwfix 'bay' at Borehamwood. The car park was pretty empty and I couldn't see any markings on the bays so i parked in any bay. I know now it was a 'Screwfix' bay. The bays should be clearly marked. I know you'll say that it's nothing to do with you and should contact UKPC. I've already done that. But you are losing customers by having this parking system. I'll be going to Toolstation in future!! If you get enough complaints you may want to look at marking up the bays.

Jag, the store manager at slough, excellent customer service, I bought a few drills and returned a couple which caused confusion, he sorted it out pretty much straight away and gave a courtesy call as well to say that it been sorted, the store also is always clean and quick and friendly service by all staff

Appalling service at the Haydock Branch
Absolutely appalled by the way I was treated by Screwfix Haydock over a £3.49 packet of screws.
I placed a Click & Collect order which had been split into two parts because some stock had to be ordered into store. I specifically informed staff at collection that the order was split, yet I still left without the screws because they had not been handed over correctly.
When I got home and realised they were missing, I contacted customer services expecting a simple resolution. Instead, after being kept on the phone for a significant amount of time whilst the store allegedly reviewed CCTV, I was told the Duty Manager had “categorically” seen me leaving the store with the screws.
Let’s be clear about what that implies.
If a customer says they have not received an item, but the store insists they walked out with it, the implication is that the customer is either lying or attempting to fraudulently obtain a second set of goods. Over a £3.49 item. Completely absurd.
What makes this even worse is that the branch later contacted me to admit they had FOUND the screws in store and that the CCTV had apparently been “misunderstood” because the Osmo oil I purchased had similar red packaging to the screw box.
So after wasting hours of my time:
- the screws were never in my possession,
- the CCTV accusation was wrong,
- I had unnecessarily reordered the item elsewhere,
- customer services escalated the situation instead of resolving it sensibly,
- and my mum then had to make a second journey to collect the item.
The entire situation could have been avoided if someone had simply used common sense and properly checked for the missing stock before effectively accusing a customer of dishonesty.
I have been a loyal Screwfix customer for years and was genuinely shocked by the lack of professionalism, poor judgement and complete overreaction by both the branch and customer services.
Yes, they eventually apologised and offered a £10 voucher, but that does not remotely reflect the amount of time, inconvenience and upset caused by what should have been a straightforward collection error.
Very poor experience and honestly one of the worst examples of customer service handling I have experienced in a long time.
