Decline in service..
Always had excellent service from Screwfix , up until recently.
There's been a noticeable decline in service and I'm 100% certain it is thru no fault of the staff . Most times I call in, recently, the staff seem to be overworked or tasked with too many things to do at once.
In my opinion , there just isn't enough staff to cope with the customers wanting , either to be served or to , like me , pop in to collect my internet order.
I've always felt the dedicated tradesperson counter was perfect for me, but, unfortunately the door is locked too often and I'm told (politely, apologetically) there is not enough staff.
I know staff have holidays, have sick days , maternity/paternity leave but this seemingly low staff count has been obvious to me for months.
I must emphasise the staff (that are there serving) are NOT the problem . It's just , literally, there's not enough of them as I remember from my previous good reviews and experience.
My local store is Birstall.
The staff that are available to serve, are still excellent, but they can only do so much !

Update.. I have used the Gravesend store since…
I have used the Gravesend store since it opened and up until recently have been delighted with their prices, stocks and help. BUT, recently I used click and collect for some pots of fertiliser and after collection wondered why the car had a strong smell. Upon unloading I found that the top pot had been cracked and the contents had been spilling out.... I then understood why there was dirt (actually fertiliser) on the lower pot. This must have been obvious in the storage area and when handing it to me that one was leaking and that it was just fobbed off on me.
OK, mistakes happen but today I collected two packs of batteries and before leaving the store I looked and found that one pack had been opened with the tear strip completely removed - obviously wrong and possibly interfered with - but given to me anyway! I will be thoroughly checking everything before I leave this store in the future. VERY disappointing.
An update:- I supplied the details to customer service and they replied quickly and effectively. Customer service matters so I've upped my rating to 3*

It feels like literary they are trying to be hated by everyone. There isn't a simple aspect about this company that is positive!

Excellent service
I had ordered some items on-line for collection at a Screwfix outlet but by mistake went to a different one. Instead of just sending me to the right one, at their own suggestion they managed to swap the order to the one I was in. Saved me significant time.
Excellent service, thanks to the staff involved. The store was at Wrecclesham, was on Sun 19th about 15.00.

Terrible customer service
Screwfix in Middleton is okay if you just wish to order on line and collect but heaven help you if you as for assistance in store. Jeff pulls his face the moment you begin to ask a question and obviously does not like using the computer screen to look anything up. I have attempted to seek customer service at Screwfix a number of times but will never use their store again. All the staff in Toolstation in Middleton go above and beyond to help customers. Total opposite to Screwfix

Ordered a boiler and all the required parts from Screwfix. Everything arrived as expected and all items were delivered correctly, which made the job much easier. The price was okay, although a bit higher than I would have liked, but they were the only place I could find with stock at the time so I went ahead with it.
Overall a good experience and I would use them again. It would have been 5 stars if the price had been around £70 less.

Terrible Communication
Ordered click and collect several times and each time email states "Please await SMS text before going to the store" and not once have I received a text. I have to phone their generic phone number 0333 011 2112 every time and every time I am told it is ready to collect.

Why are Electricfix customers more equal than others
Why do customers who use Electricfix get better service than everyone else?
Why are Electricfix customers separated from everyone else- they even have their own room - The word Apartheid comes to mind?
Why did two Electricfix customers get served before others who had been waiting in the other section?
Screwfix states it promotes an inclusive environment for customers- It seems some customers are more equal than others.
At this clear separation I spent my hard earn money in Toolstation

Useless and all about the money. Do not trust the guaranteed before noon delivery
I ordered a gearbox latch and deadbolt with guaranteed next-day delivery before noon because my door won’t shut properly. I’ve got children and dogs at home, so this wasn’t just a convenience—it’s urgent.
Now it’s Friday, and I’ve been told the £5 delivery charge will be refunded, but I won’t receive the order until Monday. To make matters worse, Parcel Force hasn’t even received the parcel yet, so the delay isn’t even on their end.
Really disappointed with how this has been handled—no real effort to resolve the situation or offer a proper alternative. I won’t be using this service again.

Service très décevant
Service très décevant. Deux fois, Screwfix a accepté ma commande avec un point relais proposé par leur propre application, avant de l’annuler ensuite en disant que le point relais n’était finalement plus disponible.
Résultat : temps perdu, commande bloquée, remboursement automatique, et aucune vraie solution proposée. Ils ne recréent même pas la commande pour corriger leur propre erreur, donc c’est au client de tout refaire.
Proposer un point relais indisponible au moment de la commande, puis annuler après coup, c’est inadmissible. Être remboursé ne compense pas le temps perdu ni la mauvaise expérience.

Cold calling
Don't even shop with them and they cold call me about promotions just this week twice about DeWalt batteries, apparently they got my business number offline and gave me a call shocking behaviour. I've contacted kingfisher and Screwfix regarding this

Total failure of accountability by…
Total failure of accountability by screwfix for my missing package ordered on line to be delivered by DHL
Order never arrived but I got a notification off DHL saying it had been I was at home at the time nothing arrived and on the notification was a image of someone else’s front door total different colour to mine
No signature was received
I spent the next week being passed from DHL to screwfix both not taking accountability for my lost order
I was asked twice to check with neighbours of which I did no parcel had been taken in for me
So after a week still no resolution to my £50 lost order
Honestly I wouldn’t bother ordering anything to be delivered from screwfix you risk losing your money and the headache of trying to find your missing package yourself
All orders should be signed for no signature no delivery full stop

I use this company a lot
I use this company a lot, and their staff and product range and convenience is excellent. They truly excel at customer service.
My only minor quibble is that some items are next day delivery when I need them same day.

Always useful, always good service.
Although this review is more centred on the recent same day delivery service vis the app, generally speaking I have been using screwfix for 15 years and never had a bad experience with them here in Coventry, they are knowledgeable, prompt, and the same day delivery service for a limited but useful range of items has been a God send several times over the last two years of house renovations. I have nothing but good experiences with them.

Misleading the customer
I spend a fair amount of money with Screwfix, but lately I’ve found them to be misleading & ripping off the consumer.
They are advertising Festool products with the knowledge that Festool are NOT suppliers to the kingfisher brand, the contract has expired ages ago, but choose to still advertise item they can no longer obtain, this goes for makita , refurbished items, advertised but they will never get them in , all you have to do is remove from website, I’ve spent countless hours raising this issue, but guess what! No reply , I’m fed up with this company, gone really downhill in recent years. Poor service, mislead advertising! I have already started to spend my money with their competitors, I can say , a lot better and no rubbish !
